LOCAL ATTRACTIONS IN
GULF SHORES, ALABAMA

Having Fun in and Around Gulf Shores.

Coastal life may be relaxed, but it’s not sleepy. Chances are you won’t have nearly enough time to do everything that strikes your fancy. But you’re welcome to try.

Of course, you can enjoy our magnificent beaches anytime, but if you’re in the mood for a play, a parade, a plate of barbecue or just about anything else, Alabama’s Gulf Coast can satisfy your cravings.

To start your day off with a splash, a visit to Waterville USA is in order. Ride the waves in the 25,000-square-foot wave pool and experience the 55-foot drop of the Kamikaze waterslide. Other exciting activity parks and arcades such as Adventure Island and The Track offer mini-golf, go-carts, carnival rides and much more.

Perdido Key Parasail lets you soar above the water on a parasailing adventure, swim with the fish on a snorkeling trip or get in gear on a waverunner. The Orange Beach Charter Fishing Association links you to fishing adventures and area marinas. Don’t miss out on exciting dolphin tours and shrimping escapades, which also go out from area marinas.

If you’re more of a peace-seeker than a thrill-seeker, you’ll marvel at the sugar-white sands and emerald waters of the public beach. Hunt for seashells, catch some rays and let the gentle water tickle your toes.

Perhaps you prefer to experience Mother Nature. The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge offers many amazing trails for birding and nature viewing, while the Gulf State Park boasts miles of biking trails and the glistening Lake Shelby.

History buffs enjoy Fort Morgan, where costumed guides tell the fort’s tale from the 1500s (when the Spanish fought there) through the Civil War. A ride on the Mobile Bay Ferry brings visitors to Fort Gaines where the story continues. While on Dauphin Island a visit the Estuarium/Public Aquarium for a lesson in underwater life.

With so many area golf courses you’ll be able to spend all day on the green. Check out our golf page for information on yardage and par or to book a complete golf vacation.

You may need to extend your stay to take in all that the Alabama Gulf Coast has to offer. Whatever you want, we’ve got it!
